Why Solocast for Cluster Analysis?

Solocast is a unique segmentation analysis tool. Designed to work with a user's proprietary customer data, Solocast unlocks the power to profile geographic areas using the most accurate survey data available - your own customer data.

Solocast allows marketing analysts and managers to instantly profile either customer databases or the population of geographic areas in order to determine the key demographic characteristics of those databases. The "cluster" profile of the database is used to correlate the similarity between the populations of different databases, and to determine the market potential of a given database. Thus, a company could compare the cluster profile of existing customers to the cluster profile of a mailing list in order to determine the number of potential customers in the mailing list. Similarly, a company could compare the cluster profile of a customer database to the cluster profile of a geographic area in order to determine the number of likely prospects living in the geographic area.

About the Data

Data is available for Solocast in the form of content specific modules. Because of the high compression technology of the database, information for every standard census and postal defined area in the United Sates can be stored on a single CD-ROM. Users are then able to "unlock" specific data modules for specific geographic areas as necessary. The benefit is that while all of the data for all of the country is instantly accessible, users have the option of licensing only the data that is relevant to their business needs.

Lifestyle modules fall into the follow broad categories:

  • Auto & Auto Aftermarket
  • Financial
  • Grocery
  • Internet
  • Media
  • Telephony
  • Many more...

About the Software

All Solocast applications begin with Solocast's powerful, intuitive query engine. The engine serves as the gateway to the nation's most accurate demographic and segmentation data. Using Solocast's simple, wizard-like interface, queries can be written to analyze the demographic and market potential of any standard or user defined area.

The optional cluster analysis software allows users to understand the lifestyle profile of any database: customer data, survey data, or the population of a geographic area. By comparing the lifestyle profiles of different databases, a user is able to determine the market potential of their own products in any geographic area. This would allow a user to profile their own customers, compare that profile to the profile of the population of a geographic area, and determine the number of potential customers that can be found in the geographic area.
